Think On These Things

Paul tell us in Philippians 4:8 to think on these things: what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and wothy of praise. In this area of our blog we want to share scriptures, inspirational thoughts or praises that are special to you - perhaps something that has gotten you through one of the storms of life. Please post a comment that will help us in our positive thinking just as Paul has suggested.

  2. During a very difficult time in my life, a very wise woman suggested I claim this verse as a promise from God that I could trust in: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). At the time, I couldn't imagine that I had much of a future, but I held on to this verse. I am amazed at the plans God did have for me - better than anything I could have imagined on my own. God is so good!!

  3. What comfort there is in these verses regarding protection from God. Psalm 46:1-3 God is our protection and our strength. He always helps in times of trouble. So we will not be afraid even if the earth shakes or the mountains fall into the sea, even if the oceans roar and foam, or the mountains shake at the raging sea.

  4. My favorite scripture is taken from the love chapter. You all know it. 1st Corinthians 13:13. But now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. Now I know this is a very well known verse that we all can quote. You are probably wondering why I claimed this verse. I believe with all my heart that God led me to it just when I needed it most. I was having a personal struggle about 13 years ago and this verse kept appearing to me over and over again in the most unlikely places. I felt like I was struggling with an obedience issue in my walk with God. One day while driving to work God opened my heart with this scripture. If you LOVE me you will obey my commandments. John 14:15 You see it wasn’t an obedience problem I was having, it was a LOVE problem. Thank you God for opening my eyes.
